The Net-Trainers course has been established to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to develop and deliver courses using Internet technologies.

What the course offers you:

  • A precourse assessment process that ensures that you and the course are the right match
  • Professionally designed content, that conforms to usability and accessibility standards
  • Online delivery - there is no need to attend the college at any time
  • The experience of being taught using Moodle, the open source virtual learning environment
  • Full support from highly experienced, expert tutors who will provide guidance and feedback from the start to the finish of the course
  • Communication with course peers, enabling networking and the sharing of ideas and experiences. Some assessed activities will be collaborative
  • The opportunity to develop and online learning project, with support from tutor and peers
  • A recognised Level 4 qualification from the Open College Network

Our approach:

The Net-Trainers course (160 hours online and distance learning, approx. 6 - 10 hours of study per week) gives the training participants the experience of learning using the Internet.  Its approach is to explore the pedagogical design and delivery of online courses by:

  • contents that thoroughly explore the potential and challenges of online learning
  • experiential learning by being an online learner
  • observing the tutoring methods of experienced and expert tutors

In this way trainers will understand the needs of learners when developing and delivering online training.
